Learning to ski is one of the most rewarding winter experiences, but your first days on the slopes can be challenging without the right guidance. While many beginners try to learn from friends or on their own, this often leads to slow progress, incorrect technique and unnecessary frustration.
If you want to learn to ski quickly, safely and confidently, choosing a professional instructor from R&J Ski School Poiana Brașov is the smartest investment you can make. Thanks to experienced instructors, modern teaching methods, premium equipment and personalized lessons, you’ll gain confidence and improve much faster than learning on your own.
Whether you’re visiting Romania for a ski holiday or you’re a local looking to master the slopes, R&J Ski School offers everything you need in one place: professional ski lessons, ski rental, ski service and expert bootfitting.
Why Learning with a Professional Ski Instructor Makes a Difference
A professional instructor teaches much more than simply how to slide downhill.
At R&J Ski School, every lesson is carefully designed to help students develop the correct skiing fundamentals from the very beginning.
Working with an experienced instructor allows you to:
- Learn faster with proven teaching techniques.
- Build confidence from your very first lesson.
- Avoid developing bad skiing habits.
- Improve balance and body position.
- Master turning and stopping techniques.
- Reduce the risk of injuries.
- Progress safely at your own pace.
Instead of wasting valuable vacation time struggling on your own, you’ll spend your time improving every run.
Modern Teaching Methods for Faster Progress
One of the biggest advantages of choosing R&J Ski School Poiana Brașov is the use of modern European teaching techniques.
Every lesson follows a structured progression that makes skiing easier and more enjoyable.
Step 1 – Getting Comfortable with the Equipment
Before heading onto the slope, your instructor explains:
- ski equipment;
- correct stance;
- balance;
- proper movement;
- safety rules.
Starting with the right foundation makes learning much easier.
Step 2 – Learning Speed Control
Controlling your speed is the key to becoming a confident skier.
You’ll quickly learn how to:
- slow down safely;
- stop correctly;
- maintain balance;
- control your skis;
- begin making smooth turns.
These essential skills help beginners gain confidence almost immediately.
Step 3 – Building Technique
Once the basics become natural, your instructor gradually introduces more advanced techniques, allowing you to improve with every lesson.
Rather than rushing through exercises, each step builds upon the previous one, creating a solid technical foundation for long-term improvement.
Ski Lessons for Children
Children learn differently than adults, which is why R&J Ski School offers specialized lessons designed specifically for young skiers.
Lessons include:
- fun educational games;

- need more confidence on steeper slopes;
- wish to eliminate bad skiing habits.
Lessons are fully personalized according to each student’s goals, experience and physical ability.
